The deep-rooted connection of the economic development and poverty alleviation with the skilled workforce is now an established fact. But when it comes to Pakistan, the situation is extremely dismal. Pakistan, unfortunately, has fallen behind not only in accordance with the international level of TEVT systems but also the regional standard. The situation especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also not much different and remained untapped because of the existing fragmented and old TEVT system which were not capable to deliver the requisite outcomes. Being aware of the fact that technical education and skilled development is the backbone of economic growth and social development, the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) was notified on 17th April 2014.
The first MD of KP-TEVTA did a remarkable job to uplift the institution with the prime objective to face the challenges and promote technical education system in the province by exploring the local, national and international resources for sustainable development. The Technical Education and Vocational Training Agency (TEVTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was established under the TEVTA Ordinance no xxx111 of 2015 on March, 2015.
The Directorate General Technical Education and Manpower Training declared as the Secretariat of TEVTA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
